Monument Valley, Juniper Tree
Gnarled juniper tree clings to life on the parched desert sands of Monument Valley.
The tribal park of Tsé Biiʼ Ndzisgaii, better known to most as Monument Valley, can get so busy that it’s hard to imagine it being somewhere sacred to the Navajo people. But when you happen upon a scene like this – the late afternoon sun casting its warm red glow across the entire landscape, including an ancient juniper tree – it all becomes clear; this really is a beautiful – and undoubtedly spiritual – place.
