Curtains, Bodie Ghost Town
Shredded, decaying curtains in the window of an old miner’s property in Bodie Ghost Town, California.
The mining town of Bodie was abandoned when the gold ran out in 1882. Today it’s a quite staggeringly photogenic state historic park where the buildings are preserved in ‘suspended decay’. (Soft furnishings are allowed to rot but the buildings themselves are prevented from actually toppling over; I strongly suspect that many of the rusty oil cans and suchlike that are scattered around the site are pre-rusted elsewhere). This image was shot on Fujifilm and has a lovely rich colour to it.
